You could say it's hasn't been a very good 24 hours for the Isle Of Wight Festival Organizer, John Giddings... Only yesterday, the news came out, that in a talk at a conference last weekend John Giddings said on the future of headliners and next years festival;
"We're not building headliners anymore. Nobody can invest in building a band over five albums. And if boring acts like Ed Sheeran are the future then we're all screwed."
A less than impressed Ed Sheeran informed fans that John had asked him to play the Isle Of Wight Festival festival in 2015 only a few weeks ago, unfortunately Ed had to turn down playing IOW due to schedule clashes with gigs already booked.
24 hours later and John Giddings responded to a Foo Fighters fan who had asked if he could get the Foo's to headline next year, he responded with
"I wish I could they said no - sorry .."
It's unclear as to why Foo Fighters refused to play but most likely down to scheduling conflicts like Ed.
So don't expect to see either Foo Fighters or Ed Sheeran at Isle of Wight next year.
