What can only be described as the festival industry's worst kept secret is finally out of the bag, Ed Sheeran will headline the Sunday night of this years world renowned Glastonbury Festival.
Ed tweeted the news earlier this evening, It has to be said it was a bit of a lacklustre reveal compared to Friday’s headliner Radiohead with their crop circles or Saturday night’s Foo Fighters; who played a nearly 3 hour gig in a local pub in Froome.
It’s sure to be a massive headline set from Britain’s biggest music star at the moment, it caps off a massive couple weeks for Ed who has broke practically every UK Chart Record with the release of new album Divide. It’ll also come as a big inspiration for smaller artists as only 6 years ago Ed was headlining a miniature tent at Glastonbury before working his way up the bill (performing after Dolly Parton in 2014) to now following in Adele’s footsteps and playing to the largest crowd in his career on that legendary pyramid stage.
Our review of Divide goes live tomorrow, We’ll also be putting up a review of Ed and his Royal Albert Hall show for Teenage Cancer Trust in a couple weeks.
We can't wait to hear Castle On The Hill blaring out across the Somerset countryside.
